Because of the concept of limit. Infinity is not a number, so the maximum point is at -2,-4. There are higher values but there's no limit and you only have a local minimum there. To find them I guess you have to factorize and use test values or something. I don't use this shit for my trade.

The way i've been tought how to find max and min points, is to find the nullpoints of f(x) and put them into f'(x), but then i only get (0,0), which is the min point.
