Undergrad research is a joke, it's only meant to give you some initial experience in approaching professors for your grad research and introducing you to a research environment. It doesn't matter who you chose, it's more about what professors are willing to take in undergrads. For instance if you're doing physics theory, you're fucked out of luck in undergrad cus most theory profs don't take undergrads.
