>>12289039Avoid electronics generally, things that play by themselves. Eg. singing toys, toys with automated lights, television, tablets. Babies are in a highly developmental state where they learn about the world around them and you don't want them associating stupid toys and TV with life. You should play with them personally so they adapt to people, and don't end up autistic. Inanimate toys like blocks, toy cars/dolls, rattles etc are okay though since they teach your kid about tools and how they can manipulate the world.
It's fucking bizarre to me that parents these days see nothing wrong with setting their kids down to watch Paw Patrol, then wonder why their kids end up as autistic anti-social furries. Guess what? It's because the TV isn't representative of real human interaction, and doesn't react positively to the kid's own engagement socially. If your kid plays with a person, they learn that they can steer the interaction through their own actions. If your kid plays with a TV or other "self-playing" toy, your kid learns that the world around them is a cold, uncaring electronic device which doesn't care what they do. Thus the kid fosters an external locus of control and doesn't learn to properly socialize.
DO NOT underestimate the importance of your child's early development.
