Word on the streets is, amazon is looking into massively upgrading its warehoue robotics work over the next 10 years. They've already got a lot of it automated, but they want automated trucks, automated unloading-the goal is that each massive factory has maybe 200-400 employees total,mostly just doing sanity checks and oversight on the robots. Even that will probably go down over time. The latest research into vision,object recog,moving is fucking insane.
