Is there really only a system for diagnosing someone with a mental illness but little to no systems for clearing them of one if they were to be cured or misdiagnosed with one? Isn't that radically irresponsible?

There are a lot of criticism with the way we diagnose mental illness because they can vary forms of severity and cause. I personally hate the check-box based system of the DSM-V but since there clearly seem to be patterns of mental illness in the sense that people have abnormalities that are similar, makes sense to categories them in order to find potential general treatment

The brain is probably the most complex thing we know and we know very little, barely enough to make a diagnosis but rarely enough to make a cure.
Most medicine in general and medicine for the brain in particular are found by accident or trial and error. And there are lots of errors. And it will remain like this for decades to come.

I would create system of diagnosis based on possible neurotransmitter problems, not symptoms, and then cures would probably work. And it would be based on bringing people into state similar to lobotomy, so just symptoms would stop along with existence of image of soul in system.
