Your body naturally produces a DMT vaccine, it's called monoamine oxidase. Your body isn't intentionally producing DMT, it's a byproduct of your melatonin metabolism pathway. There will never be enough DMT "produced" in your brain naturally for you to experience the visions of ayahuasca.

But can this DMT build up over time or is it immediately deactivated by MAO? It is to my knowledge that DMT is produced in the brain tissue and can play a role similar to neurotransmitters, thus traveling from neuron to neuron. Wouldn't it be necessary for DMT to enter the bloodstream to be deactivated by MAO?
