He's a fucking sociopath. Our brains have mechanisms to detect danger even if the method of detection is difficult to explain. Looking at him is like looking at a centipede as it rapidly crawls towards you in dim light. You don't really know what it is, but you know it's wrong. It can hurt you, and you need to get away or fight it.
Predators often hide their presence to prevent the detection methods of prey from working. Trap door spiders use, well, trap doors. Zuc uses a carefully designed web platform which slowly reels you into it as it consumed large swaths of your life. It's parasitic and disturbing.

Sociopathy does not always come with low intelligence. Although poor impulse control is a frequent hallmark, there's a lot of sampling bias in the psychology field because the people who get studied the most are those who were unable to hide their antisocial thought processes. People who knowingly exploit others and damage society for profit and feel no remorse whatsoever are in the category of sociopaths, even if they're smart enough to not technically break laws.

There is something to this. I think multicultural capitalism rewards psychopaths and sociopaths. Multiculturalism leads to low trust and division which psychopaths can exploit. Any without high social cohesion psychopaths are less likly to be detected or punished.
