I was super curious during highschool, but in university it was so hard to pass that it was pute suffering.
Years later, I now regularly self study graduate level courses, a lot of times by following lectures online, and I remembered why I loved it, but I work in the industry now.
I was led to the conclusion that the methods of academia, with professors that don't give a fuck, that make exams where you have to study months in order to get 50%, who gloat about failing tha majority of class, etc, were probably the main reason why I thought I didn't.like my field anymore.
I studied physics, by the way.
