Anyone in math or the hard sciences knows that self-study, experimentation, and discovery are infinitely more important and useful that what you'd learn in a classroom from someone else. It's abundantly clear that the poster sees "science" as some monolithic entity through the lens of easily accessible media.
I can't blame them either. If I didn't know better and always had some media whore shoving degeneracy down my throat and telling me it was "science", I'd probably hate scientists to.
