One has a higher instantaneous rate of change in terms of deaths than the other. Otherwise throughout time they will both cause the same amount of deaths, but that's only counting overall and not within the moment.

an infinite track with 5x as many people on it will ALWAYS have 5x as many deaths as the infinite track with only one person. infinite has no true value until measured, and once measured, no matter where, the deaths on the 5x track will be 5x as high, always.

I meant top, I'm an idiot.
But the same thing applies to the bottom track of course.
Also, given the condition "reach 7 deaths" the bottom train will still fulfill it when it goes past and achieves 10 deaths.

Anon, infinite isn't a magic number of fairies and unicorns where down is up and 1 equals 5. Pick any single point on the first track, and it doesn't matter if it is 1 or 1 million or 1 googol googol googol googol to the power of googol; track 2 will ALWAYS be 5x as many deaths as track 1. If you were dealing with a flat addition or subtraction it could be argued that the difference will eventually become negligable, but x*5 is a multiplicative value. It will always be constant at any measurement size.

Neither. Both take an infinite amount of water.
It's the same with the tracks, both cause an infinite amount of deaths.
Talking about least and most makes no sense in this context.

The question wasn't which track will run out of corpses first, the question was which one would kill more people. A 5m infinitely deep hole can be filled with water 5x as fast as a 1m infinitely deep hole. Neither hole will ever be filled, but the 5m hole will always have 5x as much water in it, because it can be filled 5x faster.

Track 2 kills an infinitely larger number of people than track 1, to a factor of 5. For track 1 and track 2 to kill the same amount of people, track 2 would have to stop killing people to allow track 1 to catch up, which it clearly doesn't if it is an infinite track

Not all infinite sets are of equal size, my friend, because it is a concept, not a discrete number. Track 1 and track 2 are both infinite, both have an infinite number of corpses, but the infinite number of corpses in track 2 is infinitely larger than the infinite number of corpses in track 1.

They 1 they will all die anyway within weeks from dehydration and starvation from being tied to the tracks. but at least if you send it on track one you can free more people from their ropes because they’re closer together. You can also some of the ones you free might help free other people so it would cause a chain reaction of freeing people down the track, You can also send a group to get help and then eventually the train can be stopped by cutting the power or blowing it up or something.
