Global warming is now becoming a problem, despite 100 years of prior fossil fuel burning, because the ocean has been absorbing all the co2. It is now acidic and unable to absorb anymore. This is the cause of the dying sea species such as coral.
If we were to produce a fusion reactor capable of producing absurd amounts of electricity, we would be able to send this electricity to the ocean water, causing a reaction which removes the co2 and restores the ocean to its prior, healthy state. We would not be able to achieve this today, even if we redirected the entirety of all electricity being generated across the globe. A fusion reactor, or some other form of high output, unlimited source of electricity, is required.
