My Husband got sick when he was on deployment two years ago and needed to take this anti-virus valacyclovir since! If you don't think they're making new diseases to try and kill us off you're nuts!

Now I'm on this website trying to get more information because when I google stuff like "Google ID-2020 patent is coronavirus 5G translate english" I get CENSORED and find no results!

Can't you see there forcing us to wear these masks to reduce the OXYGEN going to our BRAINS to protect from this FAKE VIRUS!

Actual pharmacist here.

1. Depends on where you live. You should look into what the scope of practice is in your area.

2. The main focus on pharmacy even with wider scopes of practice is dispensing. Some places, like where I live, are trying to shift to more clinical and less dispensing (i.e. technicians handle the dispensing; pharmacists just do clinical work only). In reality, what this looks like is we're just stepping on the toes of doctors and trying to take work away from them. The Pharmacy Revolution is still a long way off. Give it 50 years.

This is basically correct for most pharmacists. Like most things, there is a bell-curve. We have high achievers (100% clinical "I know what the fuck is going on all the time and I am just as actionable as your doctor)) and low achievers (100% dispensing "I don't even look at lab values to determine if this is right or not"). As much as I think the professions game plan to evolve is just taking away from doctors, the areas we are focusing on are actually areas that are typically under served by doctors. The evolution I am seeing is doctors diagnose initial prescribing, pharmacists do maintenance. Where I am from, you can meet with a pharmacist to adjust/initiate new therapies for your diabetes for example or even just to talk about how it's going. Where I am from, chances are you won't show your doctor your blood glucose readings, but you will show your pharmacist. And the pharmacist can do something with that.

So why did this pharmacist do such a shitty job? Because they could spend 2 minutes and blow through it and bill for their $100 instead of spending 10 minutes actually getting the record and reading it and talking with the patient instead of just lazily asking "yes/no" questions. Unsurprisingly it was an immigrant pharmacist from the middle east. That's what these fuckers do. They use their education to get into healthcare and either fraudulently bill or provide bottom of the barrel services while driving wages down. Mostly. Obviously some are okay, but overwhelmingly they just don't have the education a local graduate does (hence why you need extra education; compare the average foreign graduate (low clinical training) with a local graduate (high clinical training).

So if it seems like we don't do a lot it's likely either because you have a shitty pharmacist or you're just not a troubling case (or around when troubling cases come through). Ideally, your doctor would just monitor you for an acute kidney injury after starting certain medications, but it's probably going to fall to us because the doctor is so busy. That's what I was talking about when I say "stepping on the doctors toes". It's something they should be doing that we do because it falls through the cracks. Some doctors don't like it because they think it interferes with their consolidated power as the heads of healthcare; others like it because it's less stressful if we put in effort to monitor therapies and they don't have to put as much effort in. This is typically reflected in old v. new grads respectively.

Addendum: it could also be that your pharmacist doesn't do much because they legally aren't allowed to by the legislation that governs them. The legislation is much more open for us where I live so I can do more like this. If I lived elsewhere, I'd just be pill-pushing.

If your staff is mostly retail trained bumbling fucks who mess up every second prescription they enter, you'll end up doing a lot of the mechanical work yourself and not have as much time to do your real job. This is sadly an all too real issue. This is also why where I live is better because a registered technician can do all the dispensing work so just skip the retail bums, hire a tech, and sit back and do your clinical work like you are supposed to.

Canadian money though. It's like monopoly, but there's a drawing of the queen on it. At the *worse* case scenario you earn about 110k a year in CAD around my area if you are a pharmacist (best is like 122k or 125k). Pharmacist owners make bank though, easily upwards of 200k. Meanwhile, if you just graduated in Comp Sci, you will earn anywhere from 50k to 90k CAD---typically on the lower end since 90k is one of the best case scenario.

I am currently double majoring in math and comp sci and I don't expect to get paid more than around 70k CAD yearly.

I’m a pharmacist. It sucks. Retail is hell on earth, real grindy lots of dumb confused idiots and old people, lots of insurance problems. Very busy. Hospital is a little better but has lots of bad personalities and coworkers try to fuck you over. I started at $120k USD but salaries are going down, in another five year new grads will be looking at 80k if they can even find a job.

It depends on years of experience, job seeking skills, and the particular specialization you do (as with all fields) but at absolute best you'll be paid 110k/yr tops if you're a software engineer. What most people mean by "computer scientist" is programmer though, and you'll never surpass 90k with that.

Meanwhile pharmacists get 120k to start. and mathematicians get 300k.

C'est la vie.

I'm currently enlisted so I'm beyond familiar with the territory. What I meant is that it sounds "fun" to be a clinical psychologist but I may as well shoot for the stars and become a psychiatrist. I've just heard it's a dying field, which seems to be in stark contrast to current year culture.
I do have some benefits of being a milfag though since I'll be getting out with GI Bill untouched with a B.S. in Math.
