Only dabbled a tiny bit in programming before now, first year of uni where I'm a CS major.

Can people make it in the field just starting off in uni? I'm willing to put in work to actually learn how to code properly for shit.

So I did the python code academy course and liked it. I found the logic in it interesting, I liked doing the loops and all that crap. But then I actually started a project and found that I hated it. It seemed like everything was about finding the right directory to use and it just bored me. All the logical stuff I liked seemed to be a very small part of programming and that most of programming is monotonous stuff Im not interested in

Ok. But aren’t most cs degrees pretty heavy on programming. I’m not sure how to go about this. Could this lead to a job? Is it possible to just understand theory without any programming knowledge and get a job?

It’s hard to explain since I’m not well versed in everything. It’s just that the projects don’t need much of the interesting stuff like all the logic and what not. It seems mostly to be organizing files and directories with the small bit of loops and what not thrown in
