Take cold (or at most lukewarm, NEVER hot) showers, look up "no-poo" (as in no shampoo) to make your own shampoo that will clean your hair without completely stripping all oils from your scalp like most shampoos do. If you do this you'll probably have more oily hair for a couple weeks because your scalp has to take time to adjust to the fact that it doesn't need to produce as much oil. Once you get past that stage your hair and scalp will both be much healthier than before and you should see a reduction or complete disappearance of dandruff.

Lush products. I have long hair and it used to be flakey af. I also couldn’t do no-poo since I live in a hot humid place and my scalp is oily 24/7. I tried HnS but it’s shit, worked for like a day then back to the flakes. Then I started using my gf’s shampoo from this brand called Lush. Apparently everything is organic and natural. I use the wasabi one and the lavender one and I haven’t had oily or flakey hair ever since.

Use clinical strength head and shoulders. Worked for mine after trying everything. I use it twice a weak with a good conditioner. Selsun Blue is another one, but it didn't work for me. Try different clinical shampoos until one works.

Keta-stuff worked by smelled rank and had some questionable long term potential effects. I switched over to T-Gell and knockoffs that have charcoal and haven't had any issues since.

Whatever the actual mechanism, it has worked for me and anyone I know who tried it, all with consistent results like what I described. There are tons of other people who have had success with it, too. Not understanding the precise mechanism is no reason to not try it.

You need to find out what it is.

There are many different causes of "dandruff".
For instance, sebbhoric dermatitis is nearly indistinguishable from scalp psoriasis in some cases. Same with mild adult cradle cap.

Go to a dermatologist and get your scalp checked. Only then can you start treatment.
