But the truth is that effective space exploration could require us to solve problems we have on earth before anything else. Like fighting off human stupidity, building effective manufacturing processes, cracking intelligence and building robots to explore for/with us.
You're biased because you want space exploration to happen during your lifetime, but that is a selfish sentiment and you have to get past that, set your priorities right.
OP (which I presume is you) may have posted the greatest filter we have yet to overcome: human stupidity.
You can't launch rockets to Mars when you're surrounded by baboons, because they will fuck things up.
