Only because Australians still stubbornly refuse to let us turn their continent into a supercomputer. Would you rather have a yottascale supercomputer OR Australia? Seems like an obvious choice but nope, Australians won't let humanity progress.

No, we don't need that big supercomputer. Distributed computing is enough for anything useful.

Really, what would you do with that kind of computing power instead of consuming all the thermal resources on the planet in computation?
