I say this because the little e degree will give you the necessary foundation to start a career as a drafting, CNC, HVAC, or auto tech, skills that you just won't get from the big E degree. This will be essential for your career prospects after you graduate and fail to find a job in the Engineering world, and you will fail. I know you will fail because if you truly had it in you to jump through all the hoops to become an engineer, scientist, or mathematician, then you would not be here asking this board to help you decide your major. There are plenty of people like you at Purdue, for example, and they can be divided into two groups: the ones who toughed it out at Purdue and ended up jobless with a B.Eng or
B.Sc, and those who went to Purdue Poly and ended up with a less high flying but stable career as a Tech with a B.EngTech.
