That being said, I think a lot of other factors that are genetically linked can influence who you vote for. For example IQ is extremely genetic (around 80%), and if you're higher IQ you probably make more money, which probably influences how you vote. In addition, your race can determine how you vote, since one particular political party may pay more attention to the interests of a certain race than another. For example, Democrats in the 30s listened to the Irish and Eastern European interests, so if you were of that extraction, you probably voted for them regardless of income or political beliefs.
All this is to say who you vote for can be quite genetically determined, and it's not something we think about often.
