I'm not sure this is the right place for this, but I figured the association is strong enough to justify inquiry here.

Do we have anyone here familiar with phonology?
Specifically, I'm trying to understand underlying representation (UR).

I have AT BEST a surface level understanding of phonological principles at play here, but could someone dumb this down a bit for me?
