>>12262229I don't know but we engineers despise scientists and physicists, we imagine them as these freeloaders of society whos skills can't be applied. All they can do is teach what they've learned and do research in big universities, everything surrounding them is purely conceptual and has no practical usefulness. They're the modern day priests, the people in white jackets have just changed uniform from their religious robes. They have to come up with ad hocs everytime their ideas are proven wrong about the world like dark matter, dark energy, great filter, etc. Their field doesn't involve empirical sciences as much as we engineers do
