Why is the relationship of the diameter and the circumference of a circle always 3.14159... shouldn't it be 2 since a circle can simply be described as a straight plane surface whose single boundary is extended in every 2d direction away from its point and thus its length is unchanging

the diameter of a circle(straight plane surface) is 2(or the length) then it's surface area(circumference) is 4 in total as its boundaries lay equal to each other meaning sa = l^2 meaning circumference / l(diameter) is still 2. That's what I'm so fucking hung over about

That would be a perimeter of a square around the circle. Imagine a circle inside a square. Then you cut corners of the square with a knife and bend the lines closer to the circle. Now they're over lapping over each other because the lines are too long.

Your welcome. That's also why you typically don't find things arranged into square grids in nature because the corners are Square Root of 2 (1.414... something something) away from the center. If all the things are equally balanced then a bunch of circles packed together get arranged hexagonally.
