Just some people got excluded from the prize
One was a PhD student and the other was Franklin who made the diffraction images that only provided further evidence of the DNA double helix. Whether or not Franklin was screwed out of the prize just because she was a woman or because she didn't contribute enough is up for debate. However, Wattson and Crick did the vast majority of the work and definately deserved the nobel prize.
