>>12255220Not really, and for a very simple reason. Most of the biggest and foundational ideas in mathematics and (to a lesser extent) science were discovered pre-modern academia. Academic research today tends to be very obscure with little basis in real world problems or engineering. People often forget that mathematics and science should be pragmatic, and much of the aforementioned important results were inspired by pragmatic problems. In other words, everything is going to shit and you shouldn’t even bother. Spend your free time on more important things, like building a homestead and taking care of your family. God bless.
