Imagine every single atom's position is defined by a single function which takes in time as the only variable. Since that time hasn't elapsed the atom hasn't committed it's movement and thus cannot be remembered.

Without a "now", there is no single point to observe time from, so observation cannot occur, and without observation of reality there is no reality (sure there could still somehow be something "in the dark" but thats effectively no different from something that does not exist at all)
