Scientifically optically speaking, how accurate are glasses prescriptions? When they go

I feel like there's a whole spectrum they're missing between 1 and 2. And sometimes, 2 would be clearer, but be more distorted.

And the glasses frames are one size fits all too. Doesn't it fuck with my vision if the curvature of the glass does not match with how far apart my eyes are?

Are there expensive places I can go to get more accurate prescription, and frames specifically tailored for my eyes?
