People keep using this to talk about domesticated animals for some reason. Once humans are involved evolution goes out the window and selective breeding starts.
Wild cats ate animals that ate humans grain and at that point selective breeding started.

Why am asking is why are they the only other animals that eat grain, do you know of any other animal that eats raw harvested grain, birds yes but they're not mammals

I think rodents in general and anything else with regenerative teeth. As for how they existed before grain they can eat just about anything, they are only a problem for farmers because they find a basically unlimited supply of food and breed like mad.

Rats can eat almost anything but in thier natural environment they are sorta like chipmonks. Storing seasonal food and such seeds are a part of thier diet.

Have you never owned a cat?
They unironically love to hunt small animals. It's like their favorite activity to do that isn't sleeping. A good cat will frequently even show off his kills to his owner.

anything humans does is evolution. evolution doesn't check itself out at the door because you believe yourself to be special. some dogs and cats evolved to cohabitate with humans, because it drastically improved their chances of survival. humans ALSO evolved to cohabitate with other animals, like cats/dogs but also livestock, because it drastically improved our chances of survival.

Literally any mammalian omnivore or herbivore will eat grain. Most are simply too large or too nervous to sneak in to a silo, if you get my meaning.
More generally, if easy food is available and they're hungry, an animal will eat it. "Usual diet" be damned.

Its true. I had mice in my house when I moved in. I had two house cats. I now have a 0 mice, and a dozen dead ones. Friend of mine owns a barn and the barn cat catches swallows out of the air. They keep food out for him all the time and he is very friendly.
