Why is the natural number 0 called the origin?

Wouldn't it be more natural to say that 1 is the origin, as 1 can "create" any other natural number i.e. 1+1 = 2 or 1-1 = 0.

0 cannot lead you anywhere and can therefore not be the origin of something, but rather the product of the origin minus the origin, as it represents the lack of value instead of origin.
