Not necessarily. It’s just heat. It doesn’t turn it into a foreign substance it just breaks down the food. Chewing breaks down food saliva breaks down food, stomach acids break down food. In the end it’s all a process of fucking up the structure of it enough so that we can extract individual amino acids out of protein and other nutrients. Cooking is like a form of pre-digestion. There’s some theories that say humans were able to develop bigger brains and smaller stomachs because of millions of years of cooking and having to devote less energy into digestion.

But of course you can overcook it and denature it into carcinogenic compounds. If it’s charred it’s probably bad for you. IMO I think lightly cooked food and occasionally eating raw forms of protein like a raw eggs, a raw piece of liver, raw fish. Is the best bet in case there is something beneficial about raw nutrients. It is a staple in almost all healthy cultures to eat some portion of their protein raw.

I always wondered how a cat and a dog viewed eachother in this way. My 2 coexist just fine. My cat being the asshole cats are will tease my dog but he just ignores it. I think maybe my dog knows he can kill the cat fairly easily but doesnt because I have told him not to. Still it's fasinating to watch them sleep together and interact in ways.

If they're exposed to cats at a young age they generally won't view them as a prey item.
Also, the idea that your dog views you as the "alpha" to be feared and obeyed and that that's the only thing holding them back from sating their unquenchable bloodlust is pretty cringe.

If you want to be a dumbass and say that cooked food is ever worse than raw for an animal (it isn't - at worst it's equal), then it still doesn't matter.
