Brainlet here. How can any equation be accurate if a portion of it uses a non-terminating decimal like pi?

because leading decimal places are orders of magnitude more important than trailing decimals. if you think discrepancies that show up in the third or fourth significant digit are important then you have a very flawed view of science

1) you can refer to pi without writing out its decimal expansion.
2) if you need to compute a decimal and want a certain precision, and you can come up with an equation that tells you how accurate you have to be with numbers like pi. see epsilon-delta limits

For pure math, numbers can be defined without knowing their values. For aplications of math, Math is a model and not a 1/1 representation of reality, things work with sufficient aproximations. For example the value of pi for 3.15 may be good enough for you, for someone else 7/22 may work better and so on.

But for stuff relying upon accurate numbers, like satellites, missiles, and whatever else, where is the error accounted for? Doe the inherent error trigger math nerds?

I don't know anon, I don't give a shit about launching missiles, and there are probably more important variables such as wind resistance than mere decimal places.

As I said, everything in math is a model, math is invented, it's not necessarily applicable to real life in the exact sense. See statistics for example, incomplete information and all the things not accounted for have influences in the result and math can't do shit about them.

we solve for the equation into its simplest form, like

and at this point, we are able to reduce any error we get from cutting it off any decimal point. without the simplest form, we would be multiplying the error from cutting off pi more than 100,000 times. the accurate answer is 2*pi because converting it into decimal is forced.
