At the highest level, maybe. But Chess has become so gamified. It's the first game to have a meta and it's been growing for a thousand years. Open this way good, open other way is meme garbage. It honestly feels like years before you stop learning the meta-strategies which have come before you understand the game well enough to start being able to creatively impact the games you're playing.
