what is the current consensus on this? it seems to me that there should at least be some form of radiation that passes through all of whatever there is. Or maybe you could make some form of an argument that various fields constitute enough of a presence to make all space at least be considered as permeated by something? If I could come to occupy a space, and there would by necessity be forces acting on me that are particular to that space, then surely this implies that there is something there by which the force can be mediated?

I come because I heard a podcast on Parmenides, and now I wonder if this (immediately intuitive) avenue of approaching the idea of non-being leads anywhere. I think I agree with ol P, because if it was truly nothing then it should not constitute a distance.
