1. Institute national lockdown. For 30 days, no one enters the country and no one leaves it. No one can go outside. Bunker down for 1 month, close all stores, freeze Wall Street, etc. People who violate this for non-emergency reasons are threats to national security and are treated as such.
2. Deploy the Army to every city and town in the country. They are in charge of distributing rations to each house in the country, including food, water, and over-the-counter medicine.
3. Let 30 days pass. Handle COVID cases as much as possible.
4. Have N95 masks distributed to every man, woman and child in the country, enough to last everyone a few months.
5. Open the country city by city, shutting back down if cases rise. Masks are mandated, and not wearing them makes one a threat to national security. Threats to national security will be treated as such.
6. Trump, Pelosi, and friends spam NEETBucks to jumpstart the economy.
7. All flights out of the country are banned for US citizens. All flights in must be quarantined for 20 days.
8. We'd be fine by May or June, with the only difference being everyone wears masks for the foreseeable future.
At the end of the day, we totally failed. You can blame China, you can blame the WHO, but it's Wuhan which had a city-wide pool party to celebrate the end of their COVID crisis, not NYC or LA. We totally dropped the ball.
