Let b = mass of the ball
m = the mass of the rest of the cart
v1 = velocity of the ball
v2 = velocity of the rest of the cart

(b+m)0 = bv1+mv2

v2 = -v1(b/m)

So the movement of the cart will be in the opposite direction of the ball, and will be the fraction of the ball's velocity equal to the ratio of the masses.
