If humans evolved directly from Orangutans, How fucking stupid would we look? Lets assume we manage to form societies. How would they be different if we had similar hormone balances and inherent behaiviors to modern day pongo orangutans? Orangutans, unlike the other large apes, are very slow to anger and slow to react to emotional stimuli. They are also naturally antisocial whereas other apes live in large communities.
I know very little about genetics desu but this is more about the studied psychological profile of the average orangutan and how they naturally lack the "savage" qualities of other apes. Do you think societies of intellegent pongos would go to war? Orangutans naturally only eat vegetation and insects, and can only be seen eating small mammals in emergencies. In pongo society eating mammals would probably be a taboo. Please, tell me your opinions/hypothesees on the matter.
