>>12237714>writer/worldbuilderLately, I've been fascinated by this idea.
I tend to spend way too much time in my own head and the concept of being able to create things inside my own head, then take them out of my head, as if I were exporting goods from a foreign country, and then selling it, getting paid and making a living doing this is extremely appealing. I wish I get into this but no idea where to begin or if it's even possible and I'm not being unrealistic.
Honestly tho I know I've never read a novel outside of a classroom and I've never tried writing a story even once. I know my linguistic skills aren't interesting or eloquent enough to write anything anybody would want to read. It sound stupid but I think it may be better to try my luck by creating a story using a video game. I kinda love the idea of how video games can tell a story without any words. Just by observing a room you can see it's entire history that tells a story. who lived in it, what type of person lives there, what they were doing in this space. It's an expression of ideas and thought without words, that are clumsy tend to just muddle ideas up. The story/idea can be as deep and complex as you want it just by adding more space or more physics props for someone to explore and if you're afraid of all this story/detail overwhelming the reader/player you can just make it optional and they can skip over it if they wish. It's world building in a much more literal sense.
And yes, I'm perfectly aware how common and misguided the dream of being a video game developer is which is why I've never bothered to even try, but sometimes I feel like this is what I was meant to do, even tho I've never tried and don't know if I can. I can't tell if this is a crazy idea or not.
