I was a few years studying psychology, but I left it because I felt that it was not very scientific.
I am specifically referring to psychotherapy. I know there are different schools, I know these: psychoanalysis, humanistic, behavioral, cognitive, systemic (family oriented) and gestalt.
The reason I dropped out was because I could not tolerate the idea that all psychotherapeutic schools contradict each other (at leas as far as i can understand)and that they do not offer a clear method for practicing psychotherapy, so I could not understand how is the therapeutic effectiveness of each school of psychology measured (if every psychotherapist has its "own" method).
So i finally said "that's it" when i discover Karl popper criticism of psychoanalysis, but now i'm not sure Popper would have dismiss all schools ob psychotherapy.
