/Sci/, I have a few questions about SSR's. So, they prescribe the medication based off of people who complete a survey, and there is no way to physically determine if there are problems with the serotonin system that require an SSRI ?

From my understanding, there have been a multitude of studies (especially on ones with St. Johns wort), where neither outcompeted the placebo.

I also remember reading the only way to determine if someone needs an SSRI for a fact is via brain biopsy, is this also true?

Do you think this is grounds for a class action lawsuit of negligence for anyone that has been prescribed an anti-depressant and not just a sugar pill?
