1. The wowels are EAIO. 9 total characters. So the answer is 9 choose 4

Yes, Doesn't the binomial expansion give you combinations... not permutations. 9 Choose 4 will tell you where you can place the 4 vowels in the 9 positions - but nothing of their order!
