Is the Three Gorges Dam structurally sound? It's been running perfectly for 16 years. Is there any risk of it collapsing?

Will a group of people obsessively praying and "meme magicking" it to collapse for years make the dam collapse?

Probably a lot of cavitation and erosion in the interior water passages and turbine blades from passing a lot of bubbly sediment laden water. Happens even in dams not made out of corncrete.

It is a fairly low elevation dam so forces aren't as bad. They'll be fucked though if rain overwhelms the dam though. It is one of the worst rivers to try and dam.

Reminder that /pol/ paid $1,800 to get a satellite image taken of the 3 Gorges to "prove" the CCP was lying about it and that it really was going to collapse.

Crowdfunding. They wanted to prove a fake picture of the warping was real, so they paid nearly $2,000 for a high quality satellite image. When they got that image showing no warping or structural damage whatsoever, they tried to rationalize that the CCP intercepted them and gave them "fake" image. Then they went on Paint and fucked around with pixels saying that if the dam was X km long, and the pixel is "off" by this much, then the dam is half a metre warped, so it's about to collapse very soon.
