Make a large funnel (you can literally make it out of w.e you want) with a strainer on the bottom -> put crushed charcoal, sand, & incrementally larger debris up to rocks in the funnel -> run water through it and save it for the next step.

Spray paint a bucket or 2 vanta-black -> throw water in it -> put a funnel on top -> feed that to another bucket (not painted ) -> once non painted bucket is full, place condensate in a fresh painted bucket -> repeat sequence a few times -> drink it.

Reverse osmosis. Guy that invented it should've won a nobel. Water chemist is a thing, you know.
Anyway, I do 5 micron, 5 micron, 1 micron, RO, then carbon. Comes out under 1 drop gKh and has a ph of 6.8

Water that's very pure tends to go acid due to dissolved co2. It would only take a grain or two of sodium bicarbonate to raise ph. But that would quickly be overwhelmed by stomach acid so there's no point.

Either way your body creates sodium bicarbonate as compensation of creating stomach acid, and it ends up in your body (the NaHCO3 i mean)

From what I remember with water is it dilutes all poison.

And it it the best catalyst... which is weird because it is able to work as a chemical conduct for most reactions while also being able to dilute most acids/bases which is why you are correct it seems simple but yet it is able to do so much. Which makes it complex.
