Saying "problem solve" is as specific as it gets for most jobs, I could say I work on electrical systems but that's not any better. OP didn't even specify an engineering discipline, so he's not gonna get a very specific answer anyhow. Saying that yesterday I worked on planning to manufacture a fuckin female connector terminal for 6 hours doesn't tell OP shit about what an engineer does unless he wants to know that one specific engineer worked 6 hours on a female connector terminal yesterday
