The demo looked like an implantable EEG. It's a good first step but nowhere near the read/write capabilities neuralink requires to be groundbreaking. If he showed he could trigger senses in one pig by the interactions with others, that'd be something, but right now as far as I can tell it's just an EEG and they're working on mapping it (as evidenced by the signals being reconstructed in the "walk" simulation.
