>>12230279My uni taught us Solidworks before teaching us Catia V5. From my experience, the basic part creation are similar, with different UI. The biggest hurdle is the very beginning is the navigation and general manipulation of objects. At first you will think that those that designed Catia are retards, but once used to it its actually a godsend, like being able to move, zoom and rotate with the mouse only.
I don't know if you've already used Catia v5 but here are docs explaining the basic (in frogspeak) :

After mastering these 2 workbenches, learn Generative Surface Design for complex surfaces. For this one, a couple of online vids are enought if you the the basics.
