Has anyone come across a book about employment and depressive disorders? It's really hypocritical having to tell people like these they should get friends, do activities they like, try to be productive, etc, when most of a person's waking hours are spent in a workplace, and the usual requirements for entering a workplace is to have had prior achievements, a set goal in life, good interpersonal relationships and the will to overcome obstacles, all of which, are by definition gravely diminished in a depressive patient. In our current society, depression is a disability that intensely hinders how far can a person move in the social hierarchy. How come nobody brings this up?
