What jobs probably won't be automated by 2030? The only reason why I still don't know what I want to do is because I feel like any STEM job would immediately be displaced by robots in 10 years. Especially anything medical

Most trades will be rough to automate on the short time span since they require stuff like house visits which robots are extremely bad at. Basically anything that involves sitting in an office is going to be gone quickly while things that require you to be in the field (for non meme reasons) have more longevity.

As someone who works in automation: Automation is a meme. It's still only good for things you can put on an assembly line with predetermined steps. This will be true until we have reasonably hard AI plus robotics which aren't shit. Nobody knows when that will happen. When it does, then start to worry. Ten years from that point and most laborers will be made redundant.

Before I got enough money to go to college I worked a good paid job as pipefitter in a shipyard. And that would be a job which would be automated as last one because you would need humanoid robots to do that job.

Automation engineers do not make machines which replicate existing work. They refine processes such that machines can do them, and they implement the new design. Your work as a pipefitter required a humanoid machine because the ships, tools and materials were designed around human performed processes. A ship built and maintained by full automation doesn't have the same design as a ship built by and built to be maintained by humans.

You just posted some empty words. You can't somehow get rid of human labor just with a change of pre production.
Those kilometers of pipes in a ship also must be maintained so there is always a human factor involved.

The more a job includes local flexibility and tasks including the use of various different tools, the more complicated it is to cover it with automation.
