Will it ever be possible to increase pain tolerance artificially? Or a way to completely turn off your pain receptors temporarily without knocking you out to ease things like childbirth for example.

Maybe like a more advanced Nura-link. If you theoretically had something that were modulating signals in between so you could potentially filter a signal from a subsection of neuronal signals rather then simply reading or writing signals into them, then maybe. Nothing that could currently be feasible for another 20 years.

Don't experiment with pain, snort coke, you wouldn't feel your nose, but experience the pleasure, not the pain please... It's all about which sides of your head you listen to, but they both need to sleep and it doesn't have to be at once, therefore you can get really polar if you want to know it all.
