you sum numbers with same letters, if it's already in this coefficient format to
3x+5y=1
then you get some equation substitutes, e.g. first
2x=2y
replace in sum x = y
3y+5y=1
8y=1
y=1/8
replace another way
3x+5x=1
8x = 1
x = 1/8
I know I haven't choose right one. You have to deduce what operations I did, but it's easy.
