The new Poo1B visa rules outlaw third party visas, so body shops can no longer import huge numbers of workers who they then rent out to others. They must be hired directly by the company using them. It also increases the minimum salary so they cannot be used to push down wages of the entire industry. Lastly it bans the practice of forcing people who are being laid off to train their Poo1B replacement.

people here work their asses off to be top 10-5% just to get into the CS program.
and lots of people that don't get in end up switching to engineering.
The school structured it's prerequisite classes for all the STEM class so people that don't get into their programs have more options.
