Mom is putting so much fucking pressure on me to get a stem degree and i sort of want one aswell. But is it really worth it ?

If you don't want to be a code monkey for the rest of your life doing the burger flipping of STEM jobs then yes, get a degree.

Make sure you go to a fine school for the degree. It doesn't have to be one of the best, although you should choose those if they don't require you to get into a massive amount of debt, just one that is solid. Don't fall for meme universities, they are time and money wasters.

Finance and tech recruit STEM intensely, and those are basically the only two industries of the future: the people innovating and the people financing that innovation. Get in the game. You are in luck because there is so much variety in STEM that you can just choose whatever you'll enjoy most in these 4 years and then fuck off to any job you want. As long as your course is relatively math heavy so not biology of course (unless you can develop those skills on the side too).
