-Cybernetics
-Early childhood trauma (from sexcual abuse, to neglect, to parentification and confused roles, to not "seeing: the child)
-Brain damage
-Physical and psychological torture alongside drugs, sensory deprivation, electric and magnetic stimulation
-The more traditional carrot dangling, like sex, money, etc as a broader system which alongside law and police becomes the interface by which you acquire food (deferred gratification, proxies).
-Psychosocial conditioning and reality bending via media, psychosocial ecology at work (positioning narcissists etc in middle management)
The list goes on. Some people are more susceptible to certain types with a strong genetic component.
